About Me

My photo
Tara
I'm Tara and I'm mom to Cody who is allergic to eggs, peanuts, dairy, chicken, wheat and now also sesame and sunflower seed.

He was diagnosed as a baby with food allergies, eczema, and asthma. My husband and I also have severe food allergies (fish, shellfish and tree nuts) and I have asthma.

I'm comfortable with, and passionate about, cooking good and nutritious food. And as the daughter of a dietician who worked in the food industry, I felt I had a strong understanding of nutrition and food preparation. Still, I was overwhelmed by the challenge of making meals for my son. I also felt isolated, so I decided to start this blog as a place where parents of kids and anyone with food allergies and intolerances can share stories, information and recipes.

All of my recipes are free of the top 8 allergens (peanut, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, fish, shellfish and soy). Most are also (or can easily be adapted to be) corn, gluten, sesame-free and vegan.

I believe that allergy-friendly food can and should taste good! Welcome to my adventures in Cooking for Cody!

Cody, my husband, Josh, and I live in Tampa, FL with our German Shepherd, Schatzie.
